Hockey: Indian Jr Women win 3-Nations Tournament

Indian Junior Women Hockey Team, involving two players from Odisha _  Mariana Kujur and Ajmina Kujur _ won the 3-Nations Tournament in Canberra, Australia despite losing the fourth and final match 1-2 to host Australia today.

India won the tournament by finishing at the top of the table with a tally of seven points from four matches, ahead of Australia on goal difference. India won two matches, drew one and lost one. New Zealand finished third with three points. Indian team was captained by Suman Devi Thoudam with Ishika Chaudhary as her deputy.

December 4:
India (Lalrindiki 15’, Prabhleen Kaur 60’) beat New Zealand 2-0.
December 5: India (Gagandeep Kaur 52’) drew with Australia (Schonell Courtney 25’) 1-1.
December 7: India (Sharmila Devi 12’, 43’, Beauty Dungdung 27’, Lalrindiki 48’) beat New Zealand (Olivia Shannon 4’) 4-1.
December 8: India (Gagandeep Kaur 53’) lost to Australia (Abigail Wilson 15’, 56’) 1-2.
